Wednesday night Isaac, Josiah and I were at Kohls' in Mankato shopping. Josiah really wanted a Tony Hawk backpack and he talked to Martin about it on the phone who had told him no. That if he wanted the backpack, that he would have to bring his brand new bike back to the store. So very reluctantly, Josiah threw the backpack on the floor and went to sob by a rack of clothes. There was a gentlemen in front of us at the check out who saw the whole thing and he asked me how much the backpack was and I told him it was $25., but it was a matter of priorities, and getting the backpack wasn't a priority over his brand new bike at home. This very kind gentlemen went over to Josiah and spoke to him a little bit and Josiah came back to me with $20.00. I tried telling this gentlemen as he was walking away that he didn't have to do that, but he walked out of the store without looking back. He told Josiah that his Mom had just passed away a couple days ago and that Josiah should be nice to his Mom. Josiah got his Tony Hawk backpack, thanks to this very kind gentlemen.
This kind stranger showed us that Good Samaritans are still out there and that we should spread kindness wherever we go.
I pray that Josiah will NEVER forget this story, and that he will be kind to others as a result of this man being kind to him.
